Thanks for all the input, looks like there is nothing to be gained from
moving up to the .11n.

I did reed somewhere that on an ADSL line you get the best performance if
the router is connected to the primary telephone line, (The one where the
signal comes into the house.) I tried this and it did make a difference to
the performance.
