I just installed snow leopard on a new disc Sam fitted for me. It seems that was about 240 Gb (according to a second, cloned but not sessioned firewire back up disc I keep so I can work even if I have a crash) has suddenly shrunk to 185 Gb. I backed up from a time capsule using time machine. The most recent TM backup was a matter of moments before the old disc crashed.
Is this sort of saving normal, or do I need to try to do a disc to disc comparison because I suppose something has gone missing (apart from some caches)? If so, what would anyone recommend for the comparison?
