Hi Keith, Time Machine is the Apple backup application used to create and maintain backups.
Time Capsule is a Apple hardware device that puts a hard disk inside an AirPort Base Station where Time Machine can send the backups to. As it is part of an AirPort Base Station, many Macs (using their own copy of Time Machine) can back up to the same device. Hope that clarifies . This is in "Time Machine", which I assume is what is meant by "Time Capsule". But I'm afraid I have no answer, so will subscribe to this thread. Every time I reset, still the same problem. Have just seen a note to say this can happen if all files are included in the list not to be backed up. I am using a LaCie 300 as a backup disk with OSX 10.5.8 on MacBook Pro Intel Core Duo. Have just changed my list of files not to be backed up to see if that changes things.
