Hi Sam, Following on your advice to Malcolm, I've just checked my Time Machine preferences and I see that "My Book" (my external back-up) is specified to be omitted from backups. Is that OK?

Hi Malcolm If you've got a full backup with Time Machine that should suffice, just check your Time Machine preferences to see which folders have been specified to be omitted from backups (you'll lose those unless manually backed up somewhere else).
