Hi Peter Sounds like you've definitely deleted your System Preferences application. What version of OS X are you running? If you can find someone else with the same version, get them to zip up their System Preferences app, and put it into the Public folder of their dropbox then email you the public link, you'll be able to download it, unzip it and put it in your Applications folder. If you're on 10.6.2 I can do it.
