Hi Phil I installed mine using a windows disc, I'm not sure it is possible to get Virtual Box to open a Parallels formatted set up.
I did some instructions for getting it up and running here... http://mmug.org.uk/review/using-virtualbox-install-windows-7 You could see if anyone here would send you their Windows XP virtual box disk image fo you to use with your serial number of course!
