Hi John Sounds like something's triggering either the Cycle Window function or Exposé. Have you got any hot corners set up? Apple menu > System Prefs > Expose & Spaces > Expose > Hot Corners.
Also, if you're on a laptop with a multi-touch trackpad it could be that it's malfuctioned and is triggering expose.
