Hi Anna You should really be on 10.5 as a minimum these days. While Safari 4 runs on 10.4.11 it is much faster on 10.5
Your iBook should handle 10.5 as long as it has more than 1GB of RAM. To find the amount of RAM on your iBook go to Apple Menu > About this Mac.
