There is a problem with the T-Mobile App. I haven't checked their support site for a while, but there was certainly acknowledgement of a problem a couple of months ago. However, I've found it does work if you do this ... plug in the dongle, the App automatically starts and then crashes, now look in your Applications list and manually run the App and it seems to work fine.

I have a Huawei T-mobile dongle and it doesn't work since I installed
SL. I figured it was an issue with T-mobile's app.

Can you use a web browser (Safari)?
If so, go to http://mail2web.com and pick up your emails that way
(until
you return).

Sounds an unlikely combination, I know. I have come to my narrow
boat for Christmas and - having recently installed Snow Leopard, I
find that the settings for my 3 mobile wi fi dongle have gone and I
can't connect. The marina network is working for internet (hence
sending this via mobile me and not MAIL) but it won't "do" my
mail . Goodness knows why. I don't have the 3 phone number /
details with me (indeed, I don't know WHERE I have them!)

However, I thought the time machine backup I've done from my iMac
would have them and I'd rather cleverly be able to transfer them to
my macbook..

Sadly, I can't seem to access system preferences from the time
machine external drive using my macbook. Is there a simple way that
I can see my system preferences from about 5 months ago?

I am anxious about not being able to get my emails from other
accounts all over the Christmas period - there could be important
things being missed!

Andrew
