In the menu bar at the top on left there is a blue symbol.  If you click on
that, a page opens which gives various options.  Other symbols on that menu
bar also offers options.  Like you, I did not find the Guide much use.  I
learnt quite a lot at one of the Apple shops when I booked a lesson.
