The iPad does connect to an external BT keyboard...well, the Apple one
at least.
It was posted on the TUAW site a few days ago and even included
instructions but it was basically the same as for pairing a keyboard
(or any other BT device for that matter) to a Mac.
You go in to the Bluetooth settings on the iPad and it looks for
devices to pair with and does the usual trick of asking for a code to
be typed into the device and voila...paired.
Good eh?

Since
1) the iP'ad uses the same OS as the iPhone
2) the iPad supports external keyboards
what do we think/have we heard anythingabout the iPhone being able
to run a BT keyboard now/in future?
seems perverse not to allow it when it's in the OS...
I often sit at meetings taking notes on a laptop but as a touch-
typist, I don't need to see what I'm doing, and could easily tap
away on a BT keyboard...
if anyone hears anything, do let me know....
(meanwhile the SSD/iPad nightmare conflict goes on...I want an iPad
because it's more portable/outstanding battery life) but wouldn't an
SSD give me that anyway...?)
those who have Macbooks with these little things inside them -- can
you report back on just how much battery life you GOT and GET?
it won't really help me, as I NEEEEEEEED both devices but might help
me decide what order to sell the children in...
cheers
