We used to use LACIE disks at work , they were so unreliable I would never 
recommend them to anyone, as an example you could not unplug one drive from a 
machine and plug it into another without the drive loosing all the data (it 
lost the ntfs table) we found out it was something to do with the electronics 
that bridged the two 500GB in 1TB drive. I have just ordered a mybook (500GB) 
we use them at work they seem very reliable (touch wood)...now I am just 
waiting for my new mybook to turn up from ebuyer it cost £50.00
