Although like you Jason I'd really like a Mac Pro, I have to stick with my iMac
for a while and I've picked up on this last exchange about memory.
I've just bought, from Crucial, a 2GB module to swap with one of my existing
1GB
modules to get to the maximum 3GB for my white 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
version.
Should I have matching manufacturers and/or sizes or will everything be all
right? I've read conflicting opinions but the sum impression I got was that my
plan would be OK.

Reassurance would be nice!

Thanks, Richard

Remember to buy your memory from somewhere like www.crucial.com/uk rather than
direct for Apple, there some significant savings to be had - pays for the extra

actually, not especially, when you factor in getting rid of the stuff they
supply (it's 150 quid for Apple to take you to 6 gigs from 3, and for 6 gigs at
crucial, it's 160 quid.

The days when Apple positively put you off buying RAM are gone (though it's
always worth checking...!)
