Hi Nick Do you have easy to guess passwords on the user accounts on your MacBook? It's unlikely that any program was able to get through your router to your Mac unless you've got the firewall ports opened and pointed to its IP address. OS X runs awacsd to create the VPN connection to me.com to enable "back to my mac". Nothing to worry about if this is expected.
