<<i've just looked and there are apple resellers here, no official apple tho>>
There is an IT store in the Siam Center (I think) in Bangkok (although not knowing where in Thailand you are might not be useful)… I spent a very happy hour or so in there (while the 'women' were looking at clothes etc). Prices were reasonable. Don't know if that helps - probably not ;-) Good luck, John ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of MichaelDennis [[email protected]] Sent: 14 March 2011 06:20 To: SMUG Subject: [sussex_mug] ipad - death in the family so my ipad has died, no other words for it. it wont turn on, it doesn't come up with the 'battery dead give me some bitty' sign and if plugged in, it wont charge. it's had a fair chunk of stick over the last year as we've been using it a lot whilst travelling. i bought it as soon as it came out last year (pre-order). i dont have any of the documentation here. i'm living in thailand at the moment, so whatever i need to do it's no doubt going to be a chew on to sort it. i've just looked and there are apple resellers here, no official apple tho. what should i do? anyone had an ipad die and if so is it worth sending back to apple or should i just take it on the chin and buy ipad 2 (I'd kinda made a decision to go cold turkey with my gadget addiction and wait til ipad 3 came out, but....)? my brother lives in brighton so i could send it back to him - we're not using it that much whilst here so no dramas, maybe it would be better to get him to take it into the Apple Store there. will it be under warranty do u reckon, ipad 1 was launched 1/27/2010, if its a years warranty it'll be out of warranty and no doubt cost a small fortune to sort with P&P and apple costs. hmm. any thoughts would be appreciated.
