I may be being a very naive searcher, but I do find the search function very
inadequate. Looking for a particular file, I seem, generally, only able to use
one criterion. If I find all the files with some property (eg word in file
name) that appears to match it, whereas I'd like to look for files with that
name and with certain contents. I also find that if I give a title, I get files
with each word of the title, rather than the string. I expect I'm being very
simple about this, but I'd love to be able to search more effectively.

I know I can open a search window and that helps with documents. But inside
mail, or using spotlight, I find I'm often searching for a needle in a haystack.

I'm sure someone will be able to point me in the right direction, which is, no
doubt, somewhere obvious!

Thanks, Ranulph
