I'm having some problems with the App Store on my MacBook. I've been trying to 
update to an application. Every time I press the 'Update'  button it greys out 
and the spinning bar spins for a few seconds and then everything returns to 
normal.

I've signed out and tried to sign in again using the 'Store' menu and the quick 
links on the App Store main page but nothing happens (no dialogue box).

This problem does not occur if I go to the IOS App Store/iTunes where 
everything's working fine. I presume something is awry/conflicted on my Mac but 
I haven't any idea what it could be. 

Takes me back to the days of extension conflicts (sighs nostalgically).
