I have a PowerBook G4 which I am pleased to say has served me almost faultlessly for the last five years. I would like to continue using it for as long as it lasts, and was considering upgrading the internal memory to the maximum possible. I can see no reason why I can not do it myself. However, I need some advice.
The PowerBook has Apple's original internal memory which totals 512MB. I had a peek under a screwed-on metal plate underneath the computer and can only find 256MB of memory - a Samsung PC2700S-25331-A0. Looking at the "about this Mac" button tells me that the other 256MB is built in somewhere. What I want to know is what I would have to fit and where to get it from if I were to increase this internal memory to the maximum possible, which I believe to be 1GB?
