I had this kind of rubbish from BT hub. In the end I got another one and teh problem recurred after a while. FInally I switched to ethernet:(

what I found was a connection between the firmware updates (you can see this if you poke around in the settings). They are done automatically.

I would try unplugging it completely and leaving for a few minutes, then plugging it all in again. Otherwise, frankly, if you want wireless, I'd be tempted to buy another router (a bit drastic, I realise...)
