I've just got a new air book (smaller), I wonder why I should need an ipad: this seems to do much the same, but is more usable.
I got it because both my 17 ins books stopped working at the same time. In one the battery burst. In the other, I think it's the disc: a problem I took to my local repairer, who said it didn't exist. I'm abroad, and caught in the need a machine syndrome that leaves little option but to buy another: what a shame macs aren't serviced like cars, with a loan machine. Anyhow, that's another machine seriously wrong 2x in 1 year. Sam, of course, was endlessly helpful, but a machine on guarantee has to go to a shop, etc. Thanks, Sam, yet again. Now to my question: I notice that the hard disc which is my (new) machine does not appear on the desktop. I wonder why, and what I can do to get it to show. The os is 10.6.7.
