Just to provide a balancing comment I've been an Apple user since 1994 and my
only criticisms are;

1. The Mighty Mouse almost impossible to clean ball - good idea but poorly
executed design,

2. iPhone 3G/3GS backs which just do not seem to be strong enough where the
30-pin connector is sited

In nearly 17 years I've had two problems requiring attention by Apple - a
graphics card replacement for our white iMac, done under warranty, and an
iPhone 3G replaced free of charge by Apple when out of warranty when the Mute
button came off.

Apart from the white iMac, the family currently has an iBook G4 (acting as a
web server), 4 MacBook/MacBook pros of various vintages, an iPhone 3G, iPhone
3GS, iPhone 4, one iPad, and an iPad 2, oh, and an Apple TV.

By way of contrast, my wife, a teacher, has had 6 PC laptops provided by her
school in 4.25 years, 5 of which have failed completely including one which
lasted less than a month. The current Toshiba laptop, which I think retailed at
around £600, has lasted just over a year so far and has been of much better
quality compared to the previous laptops but weighs a ton, has battery life of
just 1.5 hours before needing to be recharged, has a poor quality screen
(compared to our MacBooks) and a keyboard seemingly made of soggy bread.

I'd also like to praise Robert Harding in Hove as well as the people at Apple,
Churchill Square and at Cancom who have given advice and time over the years as
well as SMUG members. Where would you get the equivalent in the PC world?
Certainly not from the DSG Group!
