A friend of mine switched from a PC to a 13" MBP last December and, in general, she's delighted with it.
A few days ago she started having problems starting it up (which she does every morning). After pressing the power button the grey Apple logo screen comes up and a progress bar appears. It takes 4-5 minutes for the progress bar to get to the end and then the start up continues normally. She's also finding that the Superdrive is acting up. So far she has installed the latest combo update and reset the PRAM. I'm going over to see her this afternoon to help her reinstall the system. Is there anything else she should consider? SHe's getting a little fed up that a brand new Mac is misbehaving. In France there are very few Apple stores so she can't take it to a Genius Bar. The nearest one is 350 miles away :-( Regards Philippe -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
