I use RW 5.1.1, and it is very stable. RW 4 will not be supported
under Lion and that may be something to consider. The early versions
of RW 5 were a nightmare but they seem to have sorted things out. Just
make sure that the Themes and Plugins you purchase/have purchased are
RW 5 compatible. Most are but some very well-known developers have not
caught up yet.
My latest website was a doddle to complete using RW 5.1.1 and almost
worth the buggy earlier versions.

Thanks all for the advice and links - I shall be using them and
feeling very grateful to you all!
Next question - is it worth the upgrade to rapidweaver 5 from
4.4.2?? If so, I'll do that BEFORE trying to build a site....
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew - I started using RW as a beginnner last year.
I went through some steep learning curves, but I feel it has been
worth it.
At the beginning I subscribed to
http://www.rapidweaverclassroom.com/
It was helpful, and I think they had a special offer at the time,
so it
wasn't too expensive.
However, I probably didn't need to use it, because the RW support
sites are
really good, as others have said.
http://www.realmacsoftware.com/support/
And, whenever I've posted a problem on their discussion site, the RW
developers have helped me sort it out.
So - go for it!
Best wishes

Hi. I have used Freeway a few times and am pleased with it. BUT -
it has a
nice reference book to use - lots of things explained in detail.
Which makes
it, to me, user friendly.
I have recently tried RapidWeaver, which I have seen recommended a
lot, and
having paid for it - I really want to use it. I thought that it
might be
easier to do collections of pictures (galleries?!) and be - well -
more
intuitive.
However, obviously my intuition doesn't run in the same lines and
I find
myself almost terminally perplexed. Is there a reference manual I
can buy
for this? Or failing that, some site I can go to for tutorials / a
forum
where problems are discussed and resolved?
Any advice most welcome!
