I told my iPad to "Forget this network". Reselected it and re-entered my password and all is now well. :) Interestingly when I looked at the IP Address, Subnet mask, Router and so on on my iPad they were all blank. Now they are filled with IP addresses. It seems that in the middle of browsing a web page, iOS decided to shaft my network connection on on its little own. Grrrrr. Sorry to have troubled you.
