Hello all I recently posted about the strange, feint HDD noise that was occurring ONLY in Pages (if I CMD-TAB to another app it stops?)
Apple think I might need a new HDD, so suggest a trip to the Brighton store to get it checked. I really don't think it can be!? Faulty only when in one app?!?! Anyway, should I go that route, I'm worried about backups. All my data is on TimeMachine, but they've advised that Parallels etc, may not copy across well and such apps will require a separate install. I'm self employed, so all such decisions take up a lot of time.... in short, has anyone restored from a TimeMachine and found that Parallels has just carried on as normal? I thought it was the whole point of TimeMachine?!?! Do let me know folks. If not, any tips on how I can do a type of backup that will just take everything off, and then put it right back so I can carry on where I left off? Thanks Adam p.s. If anyone else has noticed the strange HDD r/w noise whilst working in Pages (the only app it does it in: 2 clicks per second continuously) I'd be glad to hear?! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
