Thanks all.

1. Sam, my Notes sync fine to Mail, but when logged in to iCloud.com
via Safari, I can't seem to edit or add new notes?

2. So am I at risk of losing my calendars forever (I mean, what if
Apple press a button!?!) How are you safeguarding against the
unthinkable? Or am I best to go the tedious route? Or, I wondered if
could retrieve a local file from TimeMachine, and restore that as a
new calendar and upload to iCloud?

3. Will try, thanks.

4. That clarifies it. Was just unsure as I could iMessage text when in
Airplane mode (with WiFi on) but not a picture. Can't get my head
round why WiFi won't do the pictures?
