Rather than a clean install (the version of OS X in can run depends on 
processor speed - to run 10.4 requires an 867Mhz G4 or better) why not just 
create a new Admin logon (System Preferences>Accounts), login as that User then 
go back to System Preferences>Accounts and delete the old login.

After that, use Disk Utility to securely erase free space.
