hi Stephen The ability to wake on network activity comes from the ethernet port, not the wireless card. I don't think forwarding anything through the firewall would help as all power to the wifi card's cut when the Mac goes to sleep. It's only the ethernet port that stays slightly active. If your iMac's cabled into the Airport Extreme then Back to My Mac should technically work regardless of firewall.
