All, My daughter's elderly Intel 17" iMac has died. Switching on results in no start-up chime, minimal hard-disk activity and a completely dark screen – the only sign of life is a glowing "on" light. I'm kind of assuming this is an irrecoverable hardware failure and the thing needs to head for re-cycling, but I thought I'd see what SMUG thinks just in case I'm missing something.
