Hi all,

I've had this for many years and the firmware has never been updated. It's
currently working fine, as far as I know.

Due to my now rural location our maximum speed here is 8MBS (or whatever, but 8
is the number. No FTTC here!)

Its currently installed firmware is V1.05.00. The most recent one from
Netgear's website dated 2008 is V3.01.38 (or at least that is the name of the
.img file)

Given that Netgear's firmware recovery utility was only tested on Windows 2000
and XP and doesn't work at all on OS X is there any point in upgrading the
firmware or should I just take the "If it ain't broke don't fix it approach?

I only ask because the discrepancy between the versions is so large I wondered
whether they had fixed anything I should know about that may boost download /
upload speeds.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Regards,

Stephen
