I am not surprised at problems with "mail"
I could not get on with it many years ago when Netscape ceased it's support
But I still use Netscape's version of "Mail & Newsgroups" without any need of any rescues being required
They ceased support back in 2002!!!!
I did switch to Safari for my browser though.

BT have recently move their mail service to some Microsoft Office 365 cr*p which requires slightly different settings to when the mail was hosted on the previous servers.

There are setup instructions and 'help' at http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/hub/c/2048 but good luck with navigating through that!

Missed your 2nd post. Sorry, I don't know what a "web interface" is!
All I know is I went to Yahoo home page and at top left is a box saying "Mail". When I tapped on this it opened straight into my "Inbox".
