Hi all,

I checked the battery status on my macbook pro last week and it seemed fine
(about 5% down on new).

Last night I checked and coconutBattery was showing that it now only had
a capacity of about 400 mAh compared to the standard 6900 mAh of a new
battery.

I tried resetting the pram and restarting. No change.

So this morning I let the battery drain fully and left it unplugged for
about 6 hours to fully drain the battery.

On restarting it just now coconutBattery is now showing that it has a
capacity of -1 mAh. So basically it won't hold a charge at all.

The macbook is 21 months old and is showing as having 7 battery load cycles.

Is this likely to be a software issue or is my battery really dead. If it
is dead do I need to take it into an Apple store to get it replaced or
could an Apple authorised repair person do the job?

Thanks,
