Hi Paul

With a tri-lobe screwdriver (available for £3 on ebay) you can very easily 
replace the battery yourself. It'll void the warranty but if it's 21months old 
then you won't have warranty protection left anyway. If you've got applecare 
then it's all covered.

It's just 8 screws to remove the lower metal plate of the laptop, then 2 or 3 
tri-lobe screws, disconnect the battery, put the new one in and reassemble. 
You'll need to calibrate the battery but that just entails charging it up to 
100%, letting it run right down to 0% and leaving it for a further 2-4 hours, 
then charge back up to 100% and you're good to go.

You can get the batteries on ebay, just search for the part number that's on 
the current battery.
