I am trying to connect an old Mac Mini to my Sony Bravia KLD TV. Alongside HDMI, Scart, USB and various other ports the TV has a 15 pin VGA-type "PC" port (D-Sub? video + audio).
I tried connecting the Mini using the DVi to VGA adapter and cable that I have been using to hook it up to a CRT monitor for years but it does not work. I turn on the Mini but nothing shows on the TV screen. I notice that if I plug an HDMI cable into the TV, even with nothing on the other end, the HDMI source becomes available as an option in the TV menu. But the "PC" option is still greyed out with the 'VGA' cable attached. This suggests the cable is the problem unless HDMI is special for some reason. Anybody had any success hooking a Mini to a TV?
