Not off-topic, for the record.

I think 'Mac user group' in a way, means 'Apple user group' because when it was formulated, 'Mac' WAS 'Apple'. I would be easy-going about Windows alternatives to Mac hardware or software, for instance, because it's part of the conversation about Macs even if indirectly. And (though the last thing I want here is the rubbish you get on comment sites) even a civilised Android vs iOS conversation is ok. I am definitely not inviting it though, it degenerates fast;)
