I don't have my gmail account set up in the Mail app. However, I do have in the
Gmail account settings to forward incoming mail to my Apple mail account. I've
been doing this for years and it has worked reliably with very little Gmail
spam getting to my Apple mail inbox.

In the last few weeks I have noticed that the Gmail forwarding has become
slightly unreliable although I haven't seen any other reports of this, let
alone any actions to overcome the problem.

Incidently I also do the forwarding action for my sky.com email account which
is now Yahoo Mail based and this has remained reliable to date.

You just need rules in the Mail.app to separate out the emails that come from
Gmail/Sky from the rest.

Doesn't seem too clunky to me.

Tony
