Can anyone tell me whether or not the repeated calls I get from
"Microsoft Windows" telling me they are getting signals from my computer
that I have downloaded a malicious file?
Thay attempt to get me to key in a 6 digit number which they claim is a
temporary way of allowing them to inspect my Mac from Safari site
"www.Support.me".
This displays a warning, which I heeded and went no further.
I do not remember ever initially having been given a 6 digit number by
Apple, which they claim.
I had been tempted to follow their advice this time as I am fed up with
repeated calls from these Indian guys, whose speech is barely intelligible.
I will be very pleased if anyone can give me some idea of whether or not
this is a scam.
The only problems I have recently had repetedly on my PowerMac running
OSX 10.4.11 + Classic OS 9 are with Facebook which repeatedly hangs on
incoming emails when my email has to be "Force Quitted" and the incoming
email binned.
