Thanks Adam

I *imagine* that with projection, I'd naturally use a much lighter touch
than I do with (say) the keyboard of a MacBookPro5,2 … or an Apple Wireless
Keyboard, which I use with that 2009 laptop more often than the integral
keyboard. If I'm not mistaken the integral keyboard requires a lighter
touch – certainly it's shallower – and I switch between the two without a
second thought.

Anecdotally, the other day I used the (touch screen) keyboard of a
Microsoft Surface – albeit for less than a minute – it felt OK simply
tapping without *pressing*.

Now I realise, projection is probably not for me: I'm a touch typist.

With the Surface: I naturally looked at/around my fingers, so the risk of
hitting the wrong key was minimal.

If I used a projection keyboard with an iPad I'd look *away* from my
fingers. Without the physical edges, without physical hints of F and J keys
and the space bar, and so on, there would be a high risk of mistakes.
