Thanks, Read that and while it may be relevant I can not get past the white / grey screen with Apple Logo and spinning gear when I power up. I pulled the plug, powered up with the Snow Leopard DVD in the dive while holding down the C button, this allowed me to get to disk utility and repair the drive. I got a message that the volume appears OK followed by one that said volume repair complete. I re-installed the OS from the DVD, the machine said the installation had been a success and to re-start the machine. On re-starting, I am back to the white screan with the Apple logo and spinning gear?
