Sam & Gilly

Taking the results of opening shown on "screenshot 2014-06-21", it would seem that there are a large number of files created on the current date with the same name of the earlier date as a title. This might have somehow been done in the Finder, possibly with a key being accidentally depressed and repeating an action? So these files may still exist on hard disk after the history is cleared (ie: deleted). Would it not be a good idea to open one of these many apparently duplicated files ("2014-06-15") to make sure that somehow they could all be files that have erroneously been renamed yesterday but will be still intact as files with changed name and are still wanted?

Yes try History menu > delete history and see if that helps.

Thanks, Sam. Here is the screenshot (never mind about losing the history!):

Something seems corrupt there, can you send a screenshot showing the titlebar of the window showing the history? You might need to reset safari but that'll mean losing your history

If the history list is shown like this:-

All you need to do, is click on the triangle on left of the list

Sorry, Smuggers, this is a new question.

I find that my "History" list is suddenly appearing as a list of dates. How can
I get back to having details of the various sites I have visited? Does anyone know?
