Not sure if any of you are still using PowerPC Macs or not but if you're
looking for updated prebuilt packages to run on such a system, I've
started generated updated packages for opensource components via pkcgsrc
(think macports or brew but multiplatform).
Packages are available at http://sevan.mit.edu/packages/All/
