'fraid not...I don't see one anywhere. But I did notice an option to use Skype so will try that next time.

Have you tried signing out of iMessage and back in again? iMessage is a service independent of iCloud so you'll need to sign out of iMessage and back in to test.

I'm not signed in - that's the problem;) Entering the password fails (many, many times -- I've checked the password is correct). Strangely, when I boot from the clone of teh hard drive, it still says it's not working but my other devices get a notification that Mac Pro is now using the number.

(Is there a limit on the number of devices? All I can find is the limit on iTunes things).
