Here's an odd one to ponder. I have a 21.5-inch, mid 2011, iMac, running 10.9.5, and during any times that I am not using it, I like to run SETI to do my bit looking for little green men.
I've noticed something rather odd. They seem to be looking for me! I thought that if the webcam was on, there was a light showing next to it, but if the SETI screensaver is running and I wave my hand near the computer, or in front of the webcam, the screen saver immediately stops with a message saying that the computer is in use. I have searched Google and found this (below), but I still think it is rather odd. Is anyone else running SETI? Any ideas what is going on?
