Yes, thanks for taking the time to let us know Sam. Ranulph was indeed a wonderful contributor to the group, and a sad loss indeed. The Wikipedia page about his life and work is an interesting read for sure, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
The nature of an online group like this, means we're faceless, albeit friendly..... I wonder if anyone knows a way we might be in touch with his family, to send a card on behalf of SMUG? In true SMUG/cybernetic fashion, perhaps it could be something online that we all sign and email over? Or, I could collate some of the comments from here and send if someone had a way of contacting them? Just a thought...
