I'd suggest it is a Roman Script font type that has been modified - italicised, shadow, etc. - by an app such as Art Text from Belight. I haven't got a Mac to hand to check it out but the image does show some similarity to the effects from the app.
Belight are usually quite helpful so you could email them with your sample to see if they can shine a ray of hope on your query.
