Infuriated by the duplicates on my contacts in the iPad I came up with what I
thought was a brilliant solution : in settings I cancelled contacts on the
email accounts and just left iCloud with contacts. But it wasn't brilliant at
all : it hasn't got rid of the duplicates, in fact some entries are duplicated
35 times! But even more infuriating I have now lost some contacts.
Un-cancelling contacts on the mail accounts ie turning them on does not
retrieve the lost contacts. But, fortunately, the contacts remain on my iphone
where there are no duplicates. Isn't this peculiar? Can somebody explain to
me what is going on and how to sort it out?
