I've synched my iPhone to my old MacBook for years. Now I want to move it
to a new one.

1. I don't have any music or movies or anything like that stored on the
phone or in iTunes
2. I have quite a lot of apps downloaded over the years
3. I have photos, videos, contacts, texts, FB and Whatsapp messages etc.

It seems to be inordinately difficult to 'pair' the iPhone to a new Mac
without losing all the stuff (in my case, apps) that's stored on it. And
obviously I want to keep my contacts, texts, photos and videos.

What's the best, simplest way to do it that doesn't involve iCloud? My
iPhone is currently backed up to my old Mac.

It's driving me nuts, I tell you!
