Hello,

I have had the same issue with my MacBook Pro. It means as others have
stated the computer is unable to find the hard drive. If you are lucky like
me then it is just the hard drive cable which can easily be swapped out. If
not then it is the hard drive and in which case I hope you keep backups of
the data.

In either case it can be user repair or taken to Apple or another repair
centre. I took mine to the genius bar 2 ½ years out of warranty and they
diagnosed the issue and replaced the cable free of charge.

Hope this helps.
