Hi Smuggers,

I have a 2009 iMac9,1 with 24² display, with 8MB memory and a NVIDIA GeForce
GT 120 graphics card that seems to be running very hot occasionally
freezing the display and requiring a reboot. After reading this thread I
have installed Macs Fan Control 1.2.1, and with the CPU fan set to control
GPU to 70-81F it shows the GPU running at 74C with the CPU fan running at
about 2750 rpm.

Have I done the right thing installing this software?! And is there a
setting/some settings I should use to keep the iMac reasonably cool? For
example can I set the desired GPU temperature a little lower without blowing
up my fan?

Thanks

David
