Is the verification code being sent as a text message? It'll be forwarded to your Mac if you've set up sms forwarding. Try selecting to receive the code as a push notification rather than a text message, then it'll appear only on your phone and not clog up your message conversation history
The main point of two factor is to stop nefarious people signing in remotely. If they've got physical access to your Mac and your password then you've got bigger problems ;) Regards Aam MacAmbulance Ltd. Initially, when I logged in with my Apple ID on my Mac a message would ask me to enter the verification code as well - this code would appear on my iPad or iPod touch. Now, when I log in on my Mac, the verification code appears on my Mac too which makes the whole thing a bit pointless does it not? Am I unique in experiencing this? Have I inadvertantly messed something up? Has Apple broken it? Any information would be handy. Ta.
